A THRIVING COMMUNITY

  • Almost 20, 000 jobs direct and indirect in transport, postal and warehousing
  • *4.3% forecast jobs growth

(*Source : ABS 2017)

The freight and logistics industry is a significant employer within the region. Today, more than 50% of the greater Perth’s area transport, postal and warehousing jobs are located within the Link WA precinct and more than 35% of Western Australia’s transport, postal and warehousing jobs are located within the precinct. By supporting this industry, Link WA aims to maximise employment outcomes for both the freight and logistics industry, as well as secondary supporting industries.

A TRUSTED VOICE

The growth in the region will have an impact on the livability and prosperity of communities within the Link WA precinct. The scale and reach of this multi-modal corridor means that our communities will need smart, strategic and integrated land use and transport planning outcomes that are focussed on growth but also offer protection in terms of safety, environmental impact, sustainability, affordability and quality of life.

Link WA through its member Councils will work closely with communities to identify proactive and progressive strategies that secure investment to promote the development of a world class freight and logistics hub, stimulate economic growth and create more jobs, whilst balancing this with a duty of care to provide for the specific needs of the communities that live and work within the Link WA region.
